Abraham Kim, Ph.D. Executive Director

Abraham Kim, Ph.D., is the Executive Director at the Council of Korean Americans (CKA). He comes to CKA with 20 years of experience in foreign policy analyses, leadership development and innovation consulting. Previously, Dr. Kim served as Executive Director at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center located on the campus of the University of Montana, where he oversaw 50 staff, faculty and affiliates. During Dr. Kim’s tenure, the Center became one of the foremost U.S.-Asia policy and leadership development institutes in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies region.

Ruth Song Director of Operations & Programming

Ruth Song is the Director of Operations & Programming at the Council of Korean Americans (CKA). She comes to CKA after working on several major branding and cause campaigns, including the Bill & Melinda Gates FoundationNational Retail FederationNational Association of Corporate DirectorsAssociation of Corporate CounselAmerican Pharmacists AssociationUS Water Alliance, and Priorities USA Action. Before working with NGOs and professional associations, Ruth worked with nonprofit and arts organizations in the Washington D.C. area including the National Gallery of ArtThe Phillips Collection, and Wolf Trap Foundation.

Angela Cho Membership & Program Manager

Angela Cho is the Membership and Program Manager at the Council of Korean Americans (CKA) where she works with the Director of Operations & Programming and the Community Engagement Manager to oversee the organization’s leadership development programs and its partnerships with Korean American and allied organizations around the country.

Frances Kang Digital Marketing Manager

Frances Kang is the Digital Marketing Manager at the Council of Korean Americans (CKA). Frances has previously worked in the biotech industry servicing top biotech and pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, and Eli Lilly in addition to working in sales, marketing, R&D, operations, and project management.

Rachel Paik Development & Communications Associate

Rachel Paik is a Development & Communications Associate at the Council of Korean Americans (CKA). Prior to joining CKA, she worked in fundraising and development at the Arms Control Association and was the former Grants & Programs Officer at Partnership for a Secure America.

Catherine Chon Membership & Marketing Coordinator

Catherine Chon is a Membership & Marketing Coordinator at the Council of Korean Americans where she supports the Membership & Program Manager and the Digital Marketing Manager. She was recently promoted from summer intern to assist with membership and program initiatives.
